About Captain Jeffrey Johnson

An active-duty member of the United States Armed Forces, Jeffrey Johnson holds the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army and serves with the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. Jeffrey Johnson spends his free time socializing with family and friends, watching television, staying fit with regular workouts, and reading. Particularly fond of The Bible, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, and The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley, Jeffrey Johnson also enjoys the literary contributions of William Faulkner, the Nobel Prize-winning author of short stories, poetry, and novels such as The Hamlet and As I Lay Dying. Jeffrey Johnson belongs to several organizations related to his service in the military, including the National Infantry Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Intelligence Corps Association, and the Association of the United States Army. Jeffrey Johnson embarked on his military career after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, graduating from the University of Delaware after completing two years of his undergraduate studies at Delaware State University. As a Second Lieutenant with the Second Battalion, 19th Infantry, Jeffrey Johnson underwent basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia and summarily completed the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. Prior to his deployment to Iraq with the First Infantry Division in 2007, Jeffrey Johnson received Military Transition Team training at Fort Riley in Kansas. Jeffrey Johnson served one year in the Middle East as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, during which time he earned the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Action Badge. The United States Army next stationed Jeffrey Johnson at Fort Shafter in Hawaii, where he worked in concert with South Korean and Japanese military personnel and members of several U.S. government agencies as a Security Manager and Plans Officer with the 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command. Jeffrey Johnson received the Army Commendation Medal and the Korea Defense Service Medal before assuming his current role at Fort Gordon.
